Business leaders from all over the country, including Hospitality and Retail Point of Sale, Credit Card Processors and Hardware Vendors, embarked on a long journey to Maui, Hawaii for the annual winter conference sponsored by the Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA). The Retail Solutions Providers Association is the only association dedicated to the retail technology industry.

It is always “Inspiring” to get perspective from others in our industry that are faced with the same challenges in a rapidly changing Technology Market. This year’s educational speaker, Chip Heath, who is the Thrive Foundation for Youth Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, spent the past two days helping members of the RSPA understand how their customers make important decisions in their organization, and what mistakes we all make along the way.

The educational seminar was based on material from Chip’s book (co-authored with his brother, Dan) titled “Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard” a #1 New York Times Best Seller. The principals are smart and simple, but often ignored, so it was very valuable to be reminded of what works in successful selling. Chip used real life case studies to get his principals across, and was very effective in motivating the members in the audience.

According to Future POS President, John Giles,

“we have been a long-time supporter and sponsor of RSPA events because we see the value of being partnered with an organization that is dedicated to educating its members on the business challenges of the 21st century.”
